Good news and bad news re community organisations tonight. Mostly good, I hasten to add.
ALSO DEATH THROES CONTINUE
Geoff Richards has been trying to unearth just what has been happening to the ALSO Foundation and it’s now-lost riches for some time.
Following the largely abortive and adjourned Annual General Meeting, where, following the death of Bill Jeffrey, they didn’t even have a quorum of directors, further information has come to light. Geoff’s with me in the studio.
SATIN & SILK FOR OLDER LESBIANS
The rest is pretty good news. One of the organisations that has stepped up to the plate and done what ALSO was supposed to do is the Matrix Guild. They invested a legacy they received in purchasing accommodation for older lesbians.
But of course they still need to raise funds, and it’s time for their big annual Silk & Satin women-only Ball.
THE MAD HATTER OF QUEENSLAND
Bob Katter has been making news with his attempt to split the conservative vote in Queensland, with a horrible TV ad which has to be seen to be believed: the audio alone doesn’t do it justice. Even Andrew Bolt hated it: see it here and read his comments
James Newburrie from Mt Isa has already gone up against BigBob with his pro-marriage-equality demo outside his office: he’ll bring us up to date on developments.
Meanwhile you can now buy Bob Katters Big Gay Sex Party T-Shirts – proceeds go to Queensland Association for Healthy Communities LGBTI Mental Health Fund.
BEST QUEER MOVIE FEST EVER
And last but not least, it’s Queer Film Festival time in Melbourne, with one of the best line-ups ever, as we’ll hear from Festival Director Lisa Daniel.

The suicide rate amongst youth in Greece is around 40 percent...the HIGHEST in Europe..
Imagine also being Greek and Gay in an orthodox country...?
Its very depressing.
I think there are going to be some very compelling films coming out of Greece in the near future.
Please keep a look out Lisa for some interesting directors and harrowing stories that will be told i'm sure out of this crisis...

Such a gorgeous country and so sad that its going through tough times...
It will recover and become stronger and better than ever!!!
