Rainbow Report Tonight 27/11
November 27th 2008 01:30
Today Nicola Roxon backed down and sacked one of her newly appointed mens health ambassadors. No, not Julia Gillard’s “hairdresser”, but one of two allegedly homophobic appointees, Warwick Marsh of the evangelical front organisation, the Fatherhood Foundation.
Unfortunately she has a prior engagement so can’t speak to us tonight, according to her office, but we’ll make up for that amongst ourselves when we talk to one of tonight’s guests, Corey Irlam of ACE.
He’ll also give us a rundown on the final passage of the Omnibus Bill this week – the bill that changes around 100 Commonwealth laws to treat same-sex couples the same as de factos.
Not such good news on proposed changes to surrogacy laws in WA: Rod Swift will bring us up to date on that.
World AIDS Day is fast approaching: we talk to Deanne Blegg about the Burnett Institute fundraiser Celebrating Africa tomorrow night.
And we’ve a report from the ALSO Awards, where Joy got a gong, on Monday night.
Plus, Kaye Sera goes to the movies.
Lending a hand tonight, my guests Ron Thiele and Scott Bradford.
